I thought of leaving that film set after 2-3 days of shooting, says Sai Pallavi

Sai Pallavi, who made her debut under the direction of Alphonse Puthren, has swiftly emerged as a leading actress in South Indian cinema. Having gained recognition in Malayalam films, she has also made considerable strides in Tamil and Telugu industries, starring in both critically acclaimed and commercially successful films. Her recent performance in Amaran has garnered widespread appreciation.

In Amaran, based on the true story of Major Mukund Varadarajan, Sai Pallavi stars opposite Sivakarthikeyan, who portrays the Major awarded the Ashoka Chakra posthumously for his bravery. The actress plays the role of Indhu Rebecca Varghese, a Malayali and Mukund’s wife.

In a recent interview with Behindwoods, Sai Pallavi shared her experiences while shooting for the 2019 film N.G.K. (Nandha Gopalan Kumaran), directed by Selvaraghavan and featuring SurIya in the lead role. She recounted feeling uncertain during her initial days on set, contemplating leaving after just three days. “When I first arrived at the N.G.K. set, I was quite uncomfortable because I couldn't tell whether I was doing well or not. After each shot, Selva sir wouldn’t confirm if it was okay or not,” she explained.

Reflecting on her emotional state, Sai Pallavi mentioned that she felt lost and unsure about her performance. At that time, the song from ‘Maari 2’ had just been released, and Dhanush reached out to her. "Dhanush called me and asked how things were going with Selva’s shoot. I expressed my concerns, and he reassured me, saying, 'Don’t worry, he’s just testing us. It will all be fine soon,'" she recalled.

Following Dhanush’s encouraging words, Sai Pallavi noted a positive shift in her experience. “The next day, Selva sir began to guide us correctly,” she said, reflecting on the support she received from her co-star.
