Veteran actor Indrans, who won praise from Tamil audiences for his emotional performance in the film Karuppu starring Suriya, has revealed that he still does not know how to use Google Pay in real life. A dialogue from Karuppu in which his character says he does not know how to use Google Pay became widely popular after the film's release. Speaking to the YouTube channel Cineulagam, Indrans said the line reflects reality. "Even now, I don't know how to use Google Pay. Honestly, I don't. I bought a smartphone only recently," he said.

Indrans recalled that it was veteran actor Mammootty who convinced him to get a smartphone."Once, Mammootty sir called me regarding something. I usually give everyone my son's number, and he handles messages for me. Mammootty sir asked my son to hand over the phone to me and said, 'If I want to tell you something confidential, can I tell it through him?' He then asked why I never answered my own phone. That is how I ended up buying a smartphone. But even now, I don't know how to use it properly," Indrans said.

Meanwhile, Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji, has crossed ₹300 crore in worldwide box-office collections. The film's producers, Dream Warrior Pictures, announced the milestone and released a special poster to mark the achievement. It is the highest-grossing Tamil film of the year so far and the first film in Suriya's career to enter the ₹300-crore club. The movie is also performing strongly in Kerala.

The fantasy action drama revolves around Vettakkaruppu, a guardian deity who takes the form of a lawyer to fight corruption within the legal system that exploits a young girl awaiting a liver transplant. The film also stars Natty Subramaniam, Swasika, Shivada and Supreeth Reddy in key roles.
