Fahadh Faasil is no longer just an actor from Kerala; he is a pan-Indian phenomenon. From Alia Bhatt to the legendary Vadivelu — an ace actor from the neighbouring state of Tamil Nadu — all of them unequivocally declare him an astounding performer, an artist who is a delight to watch on the big screen.

Rather unbothered by the slew of compliments coming his way, Fahadh is grateful for all the kind words but remains grounded, simple, and unwavering in his commitment to his craft. It is no news that Fahadh often stays away from social media and public furore, leading a different life offscreen as well.

The nuanced actor was last seen in the Tamil film Maareesan, directed by Sudheesh Sankar. Currently, Fahadh is actively promoting his upcoming Onam release, Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira, directed by Althaf Salim, featuring an ensemble cast including Kalyani Priyadarshan, Revathi Pillai, Vinay Forrt, and Dhyan Sreenivasan alongside Fahadh.

What has now gone viral on social media is one of Fahadh’s statements during the promotional event of the film. When the anchor enquired about his wife — actor Nazriya Nazim — he answered with a smile: “She is doing good, prepping for her next movie.” The anchor cheekily followed up, saying, “Oh, both of you seem to be competing, acting in a multitude of films.” To this, Fahadh grinned and replied, “There is no competition for me,” invoking huge cheers from the crowd.

The video has since gone viral. The actor’s light-hearted comment has been lapped up by his fans, who continue to celebrate the ever-versatile, ever-flexible superstar FaFa.

Epic box-office clash

With Onam around the corner, the Kerala box office is set to witness an intense clash, with several movie hitting theatres in the coming days. These include the much-discussed Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira. Alongside, Hridayapoorvam — featuring Mohanlal and Malavika Mohanan, directed by the seasoned Sathyan Anthikad — is also set for release. Dominic Arun’s sci-fi film Lokah - Chapter 1: Chandra showcases Kalyani Priyadarshan as a superhero, along with Naslen, Chandu Salim Kumar, and Arun Kurian. Another highly anticipated film is Shane Nigam’s Balti, directed by Unni Sivalingam, with Sai Abhyankar roped in to add to the excitement. To add to the fray are Arjun Ashokan’s Thalavara, directed by Akhil Anilkumar, and Maine Pyar Kiya, directed by FaiZal Faziludeen, with Hridhu Haroon and Preity Mukhundhan playing the lead roles.”

In short, this Onam promises to be a blockbuster season at the Kerala box office.
