Veteran actor Dharmendra has been discharged from Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital after undergoing a series of routine medical tests, his family confirmed on Wednesday morning. The actress and politician Hema Malini admits it has been an emotionally testing time. While Dharmendra is finally back home to recover under medical supervision, she said the past few days reminded her how deeply his health affects the entire family

Speaking to film journalist Subhash K Jha, Hema Malini admitted that the last few days have been difficult for the family. “It has not been an easy time for me,” she said. “Dharamji’s health is a matter of great concern for us. His children are sleepless.”

According to Reddif, the veteran actress and politician added that she is trying to remain strong through the situation. “I can’t afford to be weak, too many responsibilities. But yes, I am happy he’s back home. We are relieved he is out of hospital. He needs to be among the people he loves. Baki toh sab oopar wale ke haath mein hai (Everything else is in the hands of the Almighty). Please pray for us,” she concluded.

Following widespread speculation about his health, the family issued a statement requesting privacy and reassuring fans that the legendary star is recovering well. They also expressed gratitude for the concern shown by the public, adding a warm reminder that echoed Dharmendra’s own affectionate sign-off on social media — “He loves you.”

Dharmendra’s treating physician, Dr Pratit Samdani, confirmed that the actor was discharged early on Wednesday. “Dharmendra ji was discharged around 7:30 am. His treatment and management with recovery will continue at home,” he said.

The doctor further noted that the family has chosen home-based care to ensure Dharmendra’s comfort and stability as he regains strength.

The 89-year-old will now continue his recovery at home under close medical supervision, bringing relief to his fans and loved ones.
