Look at his smile: Shammy Thilakan shares picture with father amid Hema Committee report release

Following the release of the Hema Committee report, Shammy Thilakan shared a photo of himself with his late father, veteran actor Thilakan, on social media. The caption reads, "Thief who does not tell a lie even with chillaksharam. Look at his smile" (Chillaksharam kondupolum kallam parayatha kallan. Chirikana chiri kanda), has quickly garnered attention. 

Thilakan, known for his outspoken criticism of the star organization AMMA and his subsequent expulsion from it, has been a focal point in recent discussions following the release of the report. The Hema Committee report mentioned a renowned actor being sidelined by certain individuals, sparking speculation that it referred to Thilakan.

‘It has come out in evidence that a very famous actor referred to the power group in Malayalam film industry “mafia sangham”, as they can do anything that they wish in Malayalam industry. The said artist used to openly state his opinion about whatever he did not like in the industry but a few persons did not like his frankness. Against such individuals, the actor had reacted strongly and even though he is one of the best actors in the industry, about who has ability for acting in undisputed, he could be kept away from the industry, when the ten to fifteen joined hands to ban him from cinema.

The above artist had to leave cinema and go as serial artist. But there also, he could not escape from the clutches of the powerful lobby. By using “ATMA” which is an association in serial also. During that time, the president of the said association was an actor in cinema also. Thus, if those 10 to 15 artists decide, they can keep away anybody from cinema including actors and directors’- says the report.

Shammy Thilakan's post comes in the wake of these events, drawing varied reactions from the public.
