‘He morphed my picture and sent it to me’: Uorfi Javed reveals disturbing online threats

Mumbai: Social media influencer Uorfi Javed has once again found herself at the receiving end of disturbing online abuse but this time, it has crossed a terrifying line. Taking to Instagram, Uorfi revealed that she is being harassed and threatened by an unknown man who morphed one of her pictures and sent it to her, along with repeated threats.

“This guy has been harassing me to morph my pictures and upload them (he did, in fact, morph one and send me a picture),” Uorfi wrote, calling out the user named ‘editor_vaibhya_75’ by sharing his profile publicly on her Instagram story.

The outspoken influencer expressed shock at the way technology is being misused to target and humiliate women, and urged other women to take action without fear.

“I can't believe what are these men doing with the technology available today, I will file an official complaint but ladies if you're under such circumstances please do not be scared, go file a complaint. You are not the problem, it's these men who are a blot on our society,” Uorfi wrote.

Uorfi is no stranger to online hate. She was recently dragged into controversy following her win on Amazon Prime Video’s reality series The Traitors, where she and co-winner Nikita Luther walked away with ₹70.05 lakh.

Sharing screenshots of her DMs, Uorfi highlighted the vile abuse she received post-victory, not for her outfits, but for simply winning the show. Users hurled demeaning slurs and baseless accusations at her.
