Rs 66,500 sunglasses: Tina Ahuja reveals lavish Louis Vuitton gift from Dad Govinda

Tina Ahuja, daughter of 90s Bollywood icon Govinda, has sparked a viral conversation on social media after revealing a high-end luxury gift from her father: a pair of Louis Vuitton sunglasses valued at ₹66,500.

In a series of candid interviews during Valentine’s week, the 36-year-old former actress described the designer eyewear as "very special," framing the gift as a reward for her increased involvement in her father's professional management.

The "Materialistic" Compensation

Ahuja’s revelation offered a rare window into the unique domestic dynamics of a superstar's family, where luxury goods often bridged the gap created by a demanding career.

Ahuja recalled that during her childhood, Govinda was "largely absent," rarely attending her school functions or annual days due to his gruelling filming schedules. "My dad has always pampered me with materialistic things," Ahuja told the lifestyle portal Hauterrfly. "For him, he feels materialistic things are the only way I can win my daughter, but it’s not [necessarily] like that."

Having stepped away from a struggling acting career that began with 2015's Second Hand Husband, Ahuja now works closely with Govinda. She noted that the luxury gift was a token of his genuine appreciation for the "work I’ve been putting in lately."

While the gifts are lavish, Ahuja described life under the "King of Comedy" as one of strict discipline regarding self-presentation and appearance. Ahuja revealed that during her teens, her father was "very particular" about her figure, famously urging her to lose weight because "girls should look beautiful."

Even in private, the actor reportedly maintains his public image. "He is still very particular... he has eyes everywhere," Ahuja said, adding that Govinda rarely meets her without being "all decked up" in his signature goggles and groomed look.

The interview follows Ahuja’s recent defence of her decision to leave acting to work for her father, where she admitted to enjoying the perks of her family's status. Addressing the difficulty of the film industry, she remarked, "Why would I travel by economy when I have the option of first class?" referring to the comfort of working on home productions over the grind of auditions.

The news coincides with a period of high drama for the Ahuja family, as Govinda's wife, Sunita Ahuja, recently made headlines for her playful yet pointed remarks about the actor being "married to his work" this Valentine's Day.
