‘Golu Golu Golumaala Aadi Karangi!’: ‘Dhoomakethu’ drops quirky first song ‘Chiranjeevi’

The first song from the upcoming Malayalam film Dhoomakethu is out, and it arrives with an unusual wedding setting, eccentric moments and a playful tune. Titled ‘Chiranjeevi’, the song features Sajin Gopu and Nikhila Vimal in a series of bizarre wedding sequences that set the tone for the film.
Directed by Sudhi Maddison, Dhoomakethu is jointly produced by Happy Hours Entertainments and A & HS Production House, following the success of Neymar and Sookshmadarshini. The film is slated for a worldwide release in September.

‘Chiranjeevi’ has music by Ankit Menon, with lyrics penned by Vinayak Sasikumar. Malayali Monkeys have lent their vocals to the track. The song uses humorous and offbeat lines, including the lyric ‘mandi tastes just like upma...’, adding to its unconventional wedding atmosphere.
The song arrives shortly after the makers unveiled the second-look poster of Dhoomakethu. The poster features a groom running away from a wedding celebration after removing his mundu, offering another glimpse into the film's quirky world.
The first-look poster had already caught attention for its underwater imagery, a relatively uncommon visual treatment in Malayalam cinema. With the song and posters now out, the film has continued to build curiosity ahead of its September release.
Sajin Gopu and Nikhila Vimal headline the film, with Shine Tom Chacko, Ganapathi and Siddharth Bharathan also part of the cast. The screenplay has been written by Sonny and Manu.
Dhoomakethu is produced by Sameer Thahir, Shyju Khalid, Sajin Ali and Abbas Thirunavaya. Bhavana Release is handling distribution.
The technical crew includes cinematographer Jinto George and editor Vivek Harshan. Ankit Menon is the music director, while Ouseph John serves as production designer. Ranganath Ravee is in charge of audiography and Mashar Hamsa has designed the costumes. R G Wayanadan is the makeup artist.
Antony Thomas is the production controller, with Steven Kumar handling stunts. Benoy Nambala is the casting director and Boby Sathyaseelan is the chief associate director. Shoukath Kallus serves as finance controller and Vishnu Sujathan as sound mix engineer.
YellowTooths has handled the design, while Serene Babu is the stills photographer. Promo stills are by Vishnu Thandassery and Rohit K Suresh. Nishanth S Pillai and Vasudevan V U are the associate directors.
