‘Father said he would be late, but mother persuaded him to come’: Rihan shares video of Navas and Rehna’s last meeting

Kalabhavan Navas, the celebrated actor and mimicry artist, passed away on August 1 after suffering a heart attack. He was found unconscious in a hotel room in Chottanikkara and, despite being rushed to hospital, could not be saved.
On social media, Navas’ son, Rihan, shared a deeply moving video of his father and mother, Rehna, at a wedding the couple had attended the day before Navas’ death. Rihan accompanied the clip with a heartfelt note: “Vappachi and Ummachi, in two worlds yet still in love.” He described it as the most beautiful and powerful expression of love.
The function shown in the video took place on 31 July, and although Navas had initially intended to go directly from the location, he arrived later due to work commitments — a moment captured in the video that would become their last together.
Rihan wrote:
"Vappachi ran to see Ummachi during his shooting break. He was in good health, and they would have been unaware that it would be the last time they saw each other. Vappachi returned to the location, Ummachi went home, and now, even across two worlds, their love remains."
The video and note have resonated with fans, offering a poignant glimpse of Navas’ love and devotion to his family, as the talented actor continues to live on in the hearts of the people of Kerala.
