'Never done a character like Ranga', Fahadh on 'Aavesham' movie

Actor Fahadh Faasil revealed that he has never done a character similar to the one in his upcoming film 'Aavesham'.

“I felt like I had never done a film or a character like this. It is a unique aspect of the film. My character Ranga's looks and attire are drawn from various real-life characters in Bengaluru. The character was challenging as he spoke a mixture of Kannada and Malayalam. So it is very different and complex,” Fahadh said at a pre-release press meet on Tuesday.

Asked why he played a different role this time, Fahadh replied that he only plays roles that come to him.

“I do films that come to me. The main reason why I wanted to play such a character is because I wanted to do a very entertaining film. Jithu (the director) and I are doing something new with the film. Nobody has seen me in such a character,” he said.

Fahadh also revealed that it was a completely different experience acting alongside youngsters. He also said that Jithu gave him a clear idea about his character 'Ranga' in the movie. But the character's moustache and hairstyle were confirmed later, the actor added.

He also said that he was busy shooting for Allu Arjun's upcoming film 'Pushpa 2: The Rule', so he could not attend many of the movie's promotional events. Fahadh also revealed that he is playing a comedy role in Rajinikanth's Vettaiyan and Vadivelu's two yet-to-be-titled Tamil films.

Directed by Jithu Madhavan, Aavesham stars Fahadh Faasil with a supporting cast of Ashish Vidyarthi, Sajin Gopu and Mansoor Ali Khan. The film is slated for a grand release on 11 April 2024.
