'Abhyanthara Kuttavali', directed by Sethunath Padmakumar and starring Asif Ali, is continuing its successful theatrical run, receiving critical acclaim from audiences.

The film explores domestic violence from a male perspective, with Asif Ali portraying the central character, Sahadevan.

Now, actor Bala has come forward praising both the film and Asif’s performance. After watching the film in theatres with his wife, Bala shared an emotional reaction, saying certain scenes brought tears to his eyes.

A video of Bala's response has been shared by the makers on their social media handles.

“I was drawn to the subject the film dealt with. When something reflects real life, you truly feel it. A few scenes really made me emotional—I had to control myself.”

He also lauded Sidharth Bharathan’s portrayal of Peter, calling the courtroom scene where he visits his daughter particularly powerful. Bala praised Harisree Ashokan’s character too, highlighting the helplessness of a man forced to give up all his possessions.

“We need equal rights—100 per cent. What the film shows is exactly what’s happening in society,” he added.

“Many people who saw the film have walked out with more love for Asif. If he were here right now, I would plant a kiss on his cheek. It takes courage for an actor to take on a role and script like this.”
