Los Angeles: The 2025 Emmy Awards weren’t just about celebrating television’s biggest talent — they also doubled as a glamorous date night for some of Hollywood’s favourite couples. Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco, along with Leighton Meester and Adam Brody, brought serious chemistry to the red carpet, drawing attention for both their style and affection.

Ahead of their reported wedding later this month, Selena and Benny made a rare joint appearance, sharing a kiss and several affectionate moments throughout the night. The couple skipped last week’s MTV VMAs in New York — despite Selena being nominated — but made a striking return for the Emmys.

Gomez, whose show Only Murders in the Building had been nominated for Best Comedy Series and Best Actor in a Comedy Series for co-star Martin Short, stunned in a custom Louis Vuitton gown. Her bright red, high-neck dress featured a dramatic sweeping train. She completed the look with Tiffany & Co. jewellery — earrings crafted in platinum and 18-karat gold, adorned with unenhanced rubies and diamonds.

Benny Blanco complemented her bold look with a classic black tuxedo, subtly elevated by a beaded shirt that added a dash of flair.

Meanwhile, Leighton Meester and Adam Brody also made a stylish statement. The Gossip Girl star arrived in a blush-toned cutout gown with a voluminous A-line skirt highlighted by faded blue accents. Brody, best known for The OC and now a nominee for Best Actor in a Comedy Series for Netflix’s Nobody Wants This, wore a baby blue, 1960s-inspired tuxedo with a ruffled shirt and black bowtie — a nod to retro Hollywood.

Nobody Wants This also earned nominations for Best Comedy Series and Best Actress in a Comedy Series for Kristen Bell, Brody’s co-star.

Though they didn’t take home trophies this year, both couples lit up the evening with their presence — making the 2025 Emmys not just a night of accolades, but a celebration of love, style, and star power.
