Doctor Doom vs Thor? Marvel unleashes ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ promo

Marvel Studios has released a special promo for its much-awaited film Avengers: Doomsday, which is scheduled to hit theatres on December 18.

The promo was unveiled at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, held from August 14 to 16 at the Anaheim Convention Centre and Honda Centre in Anaheim, California, according to a press release.

The film features Robert Downey Jr alongside Steve Rogers, Ian McKellen, Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth in pivotal roles. It is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the filmmakers behind Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

The new promo puts Downey's Doctor Doom firmly in the spotlight, positioning the actor's character as a major supervillain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). It also features Sue Storm, played by Vanessa Kirby, while teasing a major confrontation between Doctor Doom and Thor.

In Avengers: Doomsday, heroes from different universes are set on a collision course as they confront an existential threat unlike anything they have faced before.

The film will be released in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

Kevin Feige, Louis D'Esposito and Jonathan Schwartz have produced the movie. The cast also includes Channing Tatum, Simu Liu, Tim Hiddleston, Sebastian Stan, Kelsey Grammer, Kathryn Newton, Alan Cumming, Hannah John-Kamen, Rebecca Romijn, Mabel Cadena and Tenoch Huerta Mejia, among others.
