Disha Patani house firing: 2 accused shot dead in police encounter

Lucknow: Two men linked to the Rohit Godara–Goldy Barar gang, accused of opening fire outside the Bareilly residence of Bollywood actor Disha Patani last week, were killed in an encounter with the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) and Delhi Police’s Crime Investigation Unit in Ghaziabad on Wednesday, according to reports. One of the accused later died during treatment.
On 12 September, unidentified men fired several rounds outside Patani’s home in Bareilly at around 3:45 am, sparking panic in the neighbourhood. A case was soon filed at the Bareilly Kotwali police station. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath instructed police to act immediately and reiterated the government’s “zero-tolerance policy towards crime.”
Who were the accused?
Additional Director General (ADG) Law and Order, Amitabh Yash, said police relied on CCTV footage, intelligence inputs, and records from neighbouring states to trace the shooters. They were identified as Ravindra, son of Kallu, a resident of Kahni in Rohtak, and Arun, son of Rajendra, from Indian Colony on Gohana Road in Sonipat.
The ADG confirmed that Ravindra and Arun were active members of the Rohit Godara–Goldy Barar gang. He also noted that Ravindra had a criminal background and had been involved in multiple earlier cases.
What led to the encounter?
On Wednesday, a joint team of the STF’s Noida unit and Delhi Police intercepted the two men in Tronica City, Ghaziabad. During the confrontation, an exchange of gunfire broke out, leaving both accused seriously injured. They were taken to hospital for treatment but later succumbed to their injuries.
Police recovered a Glock pistol, a Zigana pistol, and a large cache of cartridges from the site of the encounter.
