Director Ramasimhan Aboobakker quits BJP, says ‘no more a slave to politics’

Thiruvananthapuram: Director Ramasimhan Aboobakker (Ali Akbar) has resigned from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Taking to Facebook, he made the announcement of severing links with the party completely. He has also sent his resignation letter to the state president of the party.
Aboobakker, who was a member of the party’s state committee, had earlier stepped down from all positions.
Sharing an old picture, Aboobakker wrote, “When Kummanam Rajasekharan lost, I kept my word and shaved my head. But now, I will not shave my head for anyone other than myself.”
“Let me share some good news, now I am not a slave to any politics. Completely independent... Freed from everything,” he added.
With the current decision, Aboobakker adds to the list of filmmaker Rajasenan and actor Bheeman Raghu who had also quit the BJP earlier this month.
