No songs promoting alcohol, drugs, violence: Diljit Dosanjh served notice ahead of Hyderabad concert

Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh has been issued a notice by Telangana authorities ahead of his Dil-Luminati concert in Hyderabad on Friday. The notice directs Dosanjh and event organizers to refrain from performing songs that promote alcohol, drugs, and violence.

According to India Today, the action follows a complaint filed by a Chandigarh resident, who submitted video evidence of Dosanjh performing songs such as CASE, Patiala Peg and 5 Taara at a recent concert in New Delhi, alleging they glorify substance abuse and violence. The Telangana Women and Child Development Department confirmed the notice was issued to ensure these themes are not promoted during the upcoming show.

The notice also raises concerns about children attending the concert. It warns against the use of children on stage, noting the potential harm of loud sounds and flashing lights, which could be harmful to young audiences under 13.

Dosanjh, who has consistently sold out stadiums across India, is set to continue his Dil-Luminati tour with upcoming performances in Ahmedabad (Nov 17), Lucknow (Nov 22), Pune (Nov 24), Kolkata (Nov 30), Bengaluru (Dec 6), and Indore (Dec 8).

The notice also refers to directions from the Punjab and Haryana High Court, which has previously called for a ban on songs promoting alcohol, drugs, and violence.
