Dhurandhar 2 advance booking: Ranveer Singh’s spy thriller shatters records 12 days before release

The box office storm has arrived. Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, the highly anticipated sequel directed by Aditya Dhar, has ignited a massive frenzy at the ticket windows. Within just 24 hours of opening advance bookings for paid previews, the Ranveer Singh-starrer has already crossed the double-digit mark, signalling a potential blockbuster start.
Scheduled for a grand release on March 19, the film’s paid previews will begin on March 18. Despite the previews being 11 days away, the spy thriller is already rewriting the record books for 2026.
In less than a day, Dhurandhar 2 has amassed a staggering Rs 13.26 crore in domestic collections (including block bookings) solely from its paid preview slots.
The film has officially become the 5th highest-grossing Hindi film of 2026 before its actual release date, overtaking notable titles like Assi (Rs 10.10 cr) and Tu Yaa Main (Rs 6.98 cr). It now sits behind heavyweights like Border 2 and Mardaani 3 on the yearly leaderboard.
Over 1.2 lakh tickets sold in 24 hours
The "Ranveer Singh Effect" is evident as the film sold over 1.26 lakh tickets in record time. While the Hindi version remains the primary driver with over 1.2 lakh seats booked, the film is seeing an unprecedented response in South India.
Premium seats are being sold for as high as Rs 2,000 at major chains like PVR-INOX and Cinepolis due to the extreme demand.
Unlike the first installment, Dhurandhar 2 is eyeing a pan-India footprint with dubbed releases in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. The film has gained a significant advantage after the postponement of Yash’s Toxic to June, leaving the March 19 (Eid/Ugadi) window wide open for Aditya Dhar’s spy universe.
However, it will face a tough challenge in the Telugu market from Pawan Kalyan’s Ustaad Bhagat Singh, which releases on the same day.
Can it beat Jawan and Pathaan’s records?
With 11 days left for the previews to begin, trade analysts predict that Dhurandhar 2 will challenge the all-time advance booking records held by Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan (5.57 lakh tickets) and Pathaan (5.56 lakh tickets).
The first Dhurandhar was a global phenomenon, earning over Rs 1,300 crore worldwide. The sequel, co-produced by B62 Studios and Jio Studios, features a stellar ensemble including Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal, making it the most significant theatrical event of the first half of 2026.
