Dhanush breaks silence on political entry rumours; denies BJP's backing

Amid growing speculation about his possible entry into politics, Tamil actor Dhanush has dismissed claims that the BJP is backing his alleged political ambitions.
Dhanush addressed the speculation while speaking at the audio launch of his upcoming film ‘OM – Chapter 1: Udhiram – The Blood Wood’. Responding to reports about political forces working behind him, the actor said that certain people had been spreading claims about him and suggesting that powerful groups were supporting his moves. The actor maintained that no political party is supporting him, adding that his faith in God and the support of his fans and the public remain his biggest sources of strength.
Speculation about Dhanush launching his own political party in Tamil Nadu has been gaining momentum in recent months. Reports suggesting a possible political debut have also led to allegations from some opposition parties that the actor's alleged plans were receiving support from the BJP, the ruling party at the Centre.
The actor's recent activities have further fuelled these discussions. His fan clubs were reportedly reorganised into a social welfare organisation called 'Dhanush Narpani Iyakkam', prompting speculation that the move could be part of a larger political plan.
The organisation is also reportedly planning to establish free, air-conditioned coaching centres for students preparing for their Class 10 and Class 12 examinations across all 234 Assembly constituencies in Tamil Nadu.
While these developments have kept rumours about his political ambitions alive, he has, however, not made any formal announcement about entering electoral politics.
