While the streaming platform has yet to announce a premiere date, the film could arrive on Netflix between October 30 and November 13. This estimate is based on the typical six-to-eight-week window between a film’s theatrical release and its OTT debut.

However, viewers will have to wait for an official announcement from Netflix or the makers to know the confirmed streaming date.

What is the story of ‘Daayra’?

Directed by Meghna Gulzar, ‘Daayra’ examines the uneasy divide between the pursuit of justice through the law and the temptation to deliver instant punishment.

The crime thriller follows the investigation into the brutal rape and murder of a young woman. DCP Raman Kumar (Prithviraj Sukumaran) becomes a national hero after leading a police encounter in which the suspects are killed. But questions surrounding the operation soon emerge, prompting the Human Rights Commission to investigate his actions.

Enter DCP Ajooni Kohli (Kareena Kapoor Khan), a police officer known for her unwavering commitment to the law. Tasked with investigating Kumar, Kohli finds herself at odds with him over their fundamentally different approaches to justice.

As she delves deeper into the case, inconsistencies begin to surface, casting doubt on the circumstances surrounding the encounter.

The film also features Kanwaljit Singh, Achint Kaur, Anuja Sathe, Seema Azmi, Biswapati Sarkar, Jitendra Joshi and Upendra Chauhan in key roles.

‘Daayra’ box office collection

‘Daayra’ hit theatres on September 18, facing competition from ‘Vibe’, the sophomore directorial venture of Kareena Kapoor Khan’s brother-in-law, Kunal Kemmu, which released on the same day.

According to News18, ‘Daayra’ has collected Rs 7.68 crore at the box office so far. ‘Vibe’, meanwhile, has earned Rs 11.50 crore, as reported by The Times of India.
