Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran have officially begun shooting for their upcoming film 'Daayra'. The stars shared their excitement on social media with glimpses from the first day of production, offering fans a sneak peek into the making of the film.
Kareena, marking the first day on set, posted, "Day 1. 68th film Daayra with the most amazing @meghnagulzar and @therealprithvi...Send love and blessings." Her post included several behind-the-scenes moments, such as a puja ceremony, script readings, look tests, and discussions with director Meghna Gulzar. The veteran lyricist Gulzar also made a special appearance, engaging with the cast and crew on set.
Prithviraj, equally thrilled, expressed his excitement in a post, saying, "#Daayra is officially rolling. A new story, a new journey that challenges and excites in equal parts. Thrilled to be stepping into this world." He also shared his enthusiasm about the collaboration, calling it a journey that both challenges and excites him.
The film’s director, Meghna Gulzar, who is known for her sensitive storytelling, dedicated a post to mark the beginning of what she described as a journey of "blurred and crossed lines," hinting at the thought-provoking nature of the film.
Kareena had earlier shared her enthusiasm about working with Meghna Gulzar, stating, "I’ve always said that I’m a director’s actor... and this time I cannot wait to work with one of the finest directors we have, @meghnagulzar & alongside the magnificent @therealprithvi, whose work I deeply admire. To my dream team, #Daayra let's do this."
Prithviraj also expressed his excitement, stating, "Some stories stay with you from the moment you hear them. Daayra is that for me. Excited to work with Meghna Gulzar, the incredible Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Team Junglee Pictures! Wish you all a very happy Vishu!"
Daayra, a film that aims to reflect on society and its institutions, was officially announced earlier this year.
