Cyber attack on Mammootty; Fans, politicians show support to their beloved actor

Kozhikode: Superstar Mammootty has been facing cyber-attacks in connection with the movie ‘Puzhu’, which was released in 2022. 

In a sudden turn of events, Right wing supporters are alleging the movie to be anti-Brahmanical - calling it a propaganda film. However, fans and people from all walks of life including politicians have come in support of the legendary actor. 

Education minister V Sivankutty was one of the first people to come in support of the actor. “Such things are not going to work here. Mammootty is the pride of Kerala,” stated Sivankutty on Facebook sharing an old photograph of him alongside the veteran actor.

Several others from inside and outside the film industry expressed their solidarity with the actor in the wake of the unprecedented attack on a movie that was released almost two years ago!

“The Sangh, they call Mammootty Mohammed Kutty, refer to Kamal as Kamaluddin and call Vijay as Joseph Vijay. That has always been their politics. But the terrain here is different. This is Kerala and there is no place for such hate politics here,” stated minister A K Rajan through his Facebook page.

Over the past few hours, the three-time national award winner actor is being targeted online, in an attempt to tarnish his mass appeal. But the attempts are proving futile with a  majority of netizens shutting down the baseless allegations.
