The stampede reportedly occurred after Allu Arjun made an unannounced visit to the theatre, drawing large crowds. Police allege they were not informed in advance about his appearance. Two theatre staff members were earlier arrested in connection with the incident.

Allu Arjun and his announced a financial assisatnce of Rs 25 lakhs to the victim's family.

Upon learning about the actor's arrest, Revathi's husband, Bhaskar, came forward to defend Allu Arjun, stating that the actor should not be blamed for the stampede. "Allu Arjun is not responsible for my wife's death. I was not informed about this arrest," Bhaskar said, adding that he is willing to withdraw the case.
