Chinese actor Yu Menglong dies after falling from building in Beijing

Chinese singer, actor, and model Yu Menglong has died at the age of 37 after falling from a building in Beijing on Thursday, his management team confirmed.

Citing his agency, Koreaboo reported that news of his death first emerged on Weibo. His team released a statement saying police have ruled out “any criminality.”

"With unbearable sorrow, we announce that our beloved Menglong fell to his death on Sept 11. Police have ruled out any criminality. We hope he rests in peace and his loved ones remain strong," the statement read, according to Asia One.

Yu Menglong began his career in 2007, participating in the talent reality show My Show, My Style, and later debuted in the short film The Little Prince (2011). He went on to star in Chinese series such as Go Princess Go, Love Game in Eastern Fantasy, Feud, and Eternal Love, and released multiple music projects.

In 2007, Yu competed in Dragon Television’s My Show, advancing to the top 16 in the Xi’an division. In 2010, he participated in Hunan Television’s Super Boy 2010, finishing in the top five of the Sohu online direct pass division, and later became a trainee with the boy group Happy Boy Group 8090. He returned to the Super Boy competition in 2013, winning the Beijing division and ranking tenth nationwide, after which he signed with EE-Media.

Yu Menglong is remembered for his roles in the web drama Go Princess Go and the fantasy period drama Eternal Love, alongside his contributions to music.
