Court adjourns Mohanlal, Antony Perumbavoor cheating case

Kozhikode: The Kozhikode Additional Sessions Court V has adjourned the hearing of the plea against actor Mohanlal and film producer Antony Perumbavoor to September 13. The case involves allegations of financial misconduct and cheating related to a film production.
The action was taken based on an appeal filed by producer and director K.A. Devarajan. The court has directed Mohanlal and Antony Perumbavoor to appear on the specified date.
Filmmaker K.A. Devarajan has accused Mohanlal and Antony of defrauding him in a film deal. According to Devarajan, he had handed over a cheque of Rs 30 lakhs to the duo on March 29, 2007, for the production of the film ‘Swapnamalika’. He alleges that neither Mohanlal nor his aide Antony met their commitments or provided the necessary coordination for the project and cheated on him.
The court is currently considering the appeal filed against the dismissal of the private complaint that was previously submitted in the Fourth Judicial First Class Magistrate Court, Kozhikode.
The case was initially scheduled for July 9 but was postponed to allow both Mohanlal and Perumbavoor to attend the proceedings.
