Box Office report: ‘Kill’ sees upward trend, ‘Despicable Me 4’ dominates theaters

The past week was eventful for Hollywood and Bollywood releases. The box office report for this week showcases a dynamic shift in the entertainment landscape, with several new releases making significant impact and ongoing blockbusters continuing their impressive runs.

According to Sacnilk, ‘Kill’ (released on July 5), directed by Nikhil Bhat, collected Rs 1.25 crore on the first day. Over the weekend, the India net collection stood at Rs 6.42 crore, while the worldwide total was Rs 7.2 crore. The movie collected Rs 2.15 crore on the second day, Rs 2.7 crore on the third day, and Rs 32 lakh on the fourth day. 

The narrative of ‘Kill’ unfolds aboard a train hurtling towards New Delhi from Ranchi, setting the stage for a harrowing tale of vengeance and survival. The train becomes a combat battleground as a pair of commandos facing off against an army of invading bandits. The film is jointly produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Guneet Monga, and Achin Jain.

Directed by Chris Renaud and Patrick Delage, 'Despicable Me 4’, released on July 5, garnered Rs 1.4 crore on its opening day in India. Over the weekend, this Hollywood film’s collection crossed the Rs 1000 crore mark worldwide. It collected Rs 2.85 crore on the second day. Rs 3.43 crore on the third, and Rs 15 lakh on the fourth day.

This American animated comedy film produced by Universal Pictures and Illumination, serves as a sequel to ‘Despicable Me 3’. In the film, Gru welcomes a new member to the family, Gru Jr., who's intent on tormenting his dad. However, their peaceful existence soon comes crashing down when criminal mastermind Maxime Le Mal escapes from prison and vows revenge against Gru.

On another note, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, which was released on June 27 is nearing the Rs 1000 crore mark worldwide, and is running strong in the theaters.
