Bengali actress Sreelekha Mitra has stated that she does not need an apology from director Ranjith following his resignation. Mitra, who had accused Ranjith of inappropriate behavior during the 2009 film ‘Paleri Manikyam,’ said that she spoke out to ensure the truth was known.

When asked if Ranjith had apologized, Sreelekha Mitra responded, ‘No’, adding that an apology is unnecessary. Mitra stressed that she has no sympathy for people like Ranjith and that he holds no significance in her life. “I spoke out because people need to recognize individuals like him. I’m happy to have sparked a movement by speaking about what happened 15 years ago,” Mitra said, urging the public to identify such predators.

Mitra further commented, “There are many people like this in the film industry and society. If you unmask them, 90% of people in the film industry across the country will be exposed. Most men in the industry are like this, and there are also women who exploit their gender to get what they want. It’s not about gender politics, but about power politics and how people use it,” she remarked.
