Kochi: Renowned actor Joju George has made his directorial debut with the recently released film Pani. This marks a significant milestone in his long acting career, as it is his first venture into both writing and directing.

The film, aptly titled, revolves around the protagonist's journey of confronting two psychopathic villains, encapsulating elements of a mass thriller and revenge drama. Joju himself plays the lead role in the film.

Reflecting on his aspirations, Joju mentioned that he had long desired to direct a film and had penned numerous stories over the years. He expressed a particular interest in creating a film with Mammootty, having shared a story idea with the legendary actor, although it ultimately did not materialise.

"I first thought about directing a film before acting in 'Joseph.' At that time, I had several stories in my mind. I pitched one of those ideas to Mammootty and contemplated various stories featuring him," Joju explained. "It was a plan I had in mind, but for some reason, it never happened."

“I even considered a romantic film with Mammooka, but for some reason, those plans didn’t work out,” said the actor.

‘Pani’ is currently running successfully in theatres. (With inputs from Agencies)
