Amala Paul calls for women leadership in AMMA, disturbed by Hema Committee findings

Actress Amala Paul has expressed her shock over the findings of the Hema Committee report, stating that the revelations were deeply disturbing. She admitted that she had not expected such allegations against certain individuals, adding that she hoped for a justification for these claims.
She acknowledged the significant effort put in by the Women in Cinema Collective (WCC) to bring the Hema Committee report to light, crediting their hard work for this achievement. She also emphasised the need for women to assume leadership roles within the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA).
It seems that 50% of women should occupy top positions, and this should be implemented, she remarked, stressing the importance of women stepping forward in communities and organisations to prevent such incidents from happening in future.
Amala Paul’s latest Malayalam film, Level Cross, directed by Arfaz Ayub, features her as the female lead. The movie also stars Sharaf U Dheen, alongside Asif Ali.
