Mumbai: Shah Rukh Khan's newly unveiled poster for his upcoming action thriller 'King' has triggered a debate on social media, with some users pointing out similarities between its visual presentation and the promotional poster of Ranveer Singh's 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge'.

The poster, released on Tuesday ahead of Shah Rukh Khan's 61st birthday, features the Bollywood superstar in a fierce, bloodied avatar, holding a gun as he walks out of a tunnel surrounded by towering flames.

While the dramatic look has generated excitement among SRK's fans, a section of social media users has questioned the poster's originality, drawing comparisons with the promotional material of the Ranveer Singh-starrer.

One X user accused the makers of taking inspiration from both another film and the 'Dhurandhar' sequel.

“Bro copy script from ‘Leon The Professional’ and now guess what?? Bro copy the poster too from #Dhurandhar2 #KING. Shahrukh Khan for a Reason."

Another user joined the discussion with a sarcastic remark about the perceived resemblance.

“Bro saw the Dhurandhar 2 poster and went, ‘We need that’,” the user wrote.

The comparisons continued as another X user shared the two posters and asked, “Am I the only one???” The user also remarked that taking inspiration from the best was “no problem.”

The reactions have sparked an online discussion over whether the similarities are coincidental or reflect inspiration from the visual style of 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge'.

However, the comparisons remain opinions expressed by social media users, and there is no confirmation that the makers of 'King' drew inspiration from the Ranveer Singh film.

Despite the debate, the latest poster has heightened anticipation among Shah Rukh Khan's fans, many of whom have praised his intense appearance and the film's action-oriented presentation.

In the poster, the actor sports an unbuttoned dark shirt, revealing a bloodied chest, while carrying a gun against a fiery backdrop. His rugged appearance and the dramatic setting suggest an action-heavy narrative.

Shah Rukh Khan also accompanied the poster with a cryptic caption that quickly caught the attention of fans.

"Aaj phir yaad aaya...Qaatil nahi… Aashiq hoon…#KING," he wrote.

The Hindi caption loosely translates to the actor describing himself as a lover rather than a killer, adding an element of intrigue to the character's portrayal.

Directed by Siddharth Anand, 'King' is among the most anticipated Bollywood releases of 2026.

The film is scheduled to arrive in theatres on December 24, 2026.

While fans await the film's release, the poster has already become a talking point online, with Shah Rukh Khan's latest look drawing both admiration and comparisons with Ranveer Singh's 'Dhurandhar' franchise.
