Actor Allu Arjun wanted to send a message against online hate and fan wars. Instead, one off-the-cuff remark from his speech has sparked a fresh debate on social media.

The actor was speaking at the Allu Arjun Fans Association (AAFA) gathering in Hyderabad on July 28, where he addressed hundreds of fans. During his speech, he urged not only his supporters but also critics and trolls to stop spending their time spreading negativity online.

"I've been wanting to say something to my fans, anti-fans, and haters for a long time," he said. "If you don't like someone, don't waste time hating and trolling them."

He encouraged people to channel their energy into things they genuinely enjoy instead of getting caught up in fan wars, saying there were far better ways to spend their time than attacking others on social media.

While the speech was largely about promoting positivity, a brief comment from the same address has now become the centre of online discussion.

In a video clip that has been widely shared across social media, Allu Arjun is heard saying, "Go wait in front of the house of the girl you like instead."

The remark quickly drew criticism, with several users arguing that it could be interpreted as encouraging behaviour that is inappropriate or even unsafe. Many felt the statement undermined the otherwise positive message he was trying to convey.

Social media platform X was soon flooded with reactions.

One user wrote "Allu Arjun should be careful about what he advises his fans."

A third questioned, "Your rogue fans will actually do it. Will you take responsibility for their actions?"
