Sathyan Anthikad directorial Hridaypoorvam, starring Mohanlal in the lead role, has finally hit theatres to rave reviews.

Apart from Mohanlal, the film features an ensemble cast including Sangeeth Prathap, Malavika Mohanan, Sangeetha, Siddique, and Lalu Alex. The feel-good entertainer has already taken the box office by storm, garnering overwhelming reviews and rapidly mounting collections.

The film narrates the story of Sandeep Balakrishnan, played by Mohanlal, who travels to Pune to visit the family of a Colonel who had donated his heart to him after being declared brain dead following an accident. The emotional events that unfold form the core of the narrative.

One of the most talked-about aspects of the film is Mohanlal’s scenes with Sangeeth Prathap. Living up to the pre-release hype, the duo has delivered brilliantly on screen.

Speaking about his experience in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Sangeeth shared his thoughts on working with Malayalam industry stalwarts Mohanlal and Sathyan Anthikad.

He believes the key difference lies in their decades of experience in cinema. “It’s as if both Sathyan sir and Lalettan can visualise the entire film even while shooting individual scenes. And I don’t say that loosely—they truly have the ability to perform with an awareness of how the scene will appear in the final edit. Sometimes, all Lalettan needs is a single word or voice cue to deliver his performance,” the young actor said.

Sangeeth further explained how working with Sathyan Anthikad has deepened his understanding of filmmaking beyond acting, especially in terms of shot division and style. Unlike his previous films, where scenes were performed in sequence and shaped through rehearsals, Sathyan Anthikad’s approach involved shooting one shot at a time, often out of order. This required the actors to recall past expressions and anticipate what came next—something Sangeeth initially found challenging but grew comfortable with over time. He praised the discipline and precision the process brought to his performance.

Sangeeth Prathap rose to prominence in 2024 with his breakout performance as Amal Davis alongside Naslen in Girish A.D.’s Premalu, and has since been regarded as the next star on the block. Notably, he is also a proven editor.

Sangeeth’s exciting journey continues, winning the hearts of cinephiles with his captivating performances.
