Ajith Kumar returns to Chennai after being stranded in Dubai amid Middle East flight chaos | WATCH

Chennai: Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar safely returned to Chennai on Tuesday evening after a period of uncertainty in Dubai caused by escalating geopolitical tensions. The actor, who was in the UAE for his professional motorsports commitments, was caught in a massive travel disruption triggered by the ongoing conflict involving Israel, the United States, and Iran.
The news of his arrival broke when a video surfaced on X showing the actor at the Chennai International Airport. In the viral clip, Ajith is seen arriving in his signature style, walking towards his car with his luggage before departing the premises. Fans, who had been voicing their concerns on social media for days, expressed immense relief at seeing the "AK64" star back on home soil.
The travel debacle began earlier this month when rising military tensions led to sudden airspace restrictions across several Gulf nations.
Major hubs like Dubai International (DXB) and Al Maktoum International (DWC) were forced to suspend operations temporarily following air defence interceptions in the region.
On March 1, Ajith’s manager confirmed that the actor had actually reached the airport to depart but was forced to return to his Dubai residence due to immediate flight suspensions.
Ajith has been spending significant time in Dubai recently, specifically at the Dubai Autodrome and other circuits, to focus on his racing career and training for upcoming international events.
As of March 11, 2026, Dubai’s airport authorities have confirmed a "phased resumption" of international travel. However, the situation remains fluid.
Travellers are strictly advised not to head to the airport unless they have a confirmed departure time from their airline.
