Actress Urvashi’s mother exposes disturbing theft allegations against Alia Bhatt’s ex-PA

Mumbai: In a shocking revelation, actress Urvashi Rautela’s mother, Meera Rautela, has come forward with serious allegations against Vedika Shetty, the former personal assistant of both Urvashi Rautela and Alia Bhatt, who was recently arrested for allegedly cheating Alia out of ₹77 lakh.

According to Meera Rautela, Vedika had previously worked as a full-time executive assistant to Urvashi from 2015 to 2017, during the period following her Miss Universe India crowning. Meera claims that during her employment, Vedika was entrusted with numerous personal and professional responsibilities, including handling Urvashi’s wardrobe, expensive gowns, and other belongings.

However, things reportedly took a dark turn when the family began to suspect Vedika of engaging in theft and dishonest practices. Meera has now revealed that Vedika was allegedly involved in multiple incidents of stealing money from the family, some of which were caught firsthand.

She recounted one particular incident during the Miss Universe India crown handover ceremony in 2016, when her elderly mother visited from Nainital. While staying at their Mumbai home, Meera’s mother’s briefcase, which reportedly contained a large amount of cash, was left unattended during a doctor’s visit. Vedika allegedly took advantage of the situation and stole the money.

In another troubling incident, the same day, Meera claims she saw Vedika take cash from her purse while they were preparing outfits for the event. Despite confronting her, Vedika allegedly denied the act. Meera said the event raised serious red flags and confirmed their suspicions about Vedika’s conduct.

Adding to the list of accusations, Meera said Vedika had falsely claimed to be related to Bollywood celebrities Shilpa Shetty and Suniel Shetty in an apparent attempt to build trust. The entire ordeal, she said, caused financial and emotional distress, especially to Urvashi’s grandmother.

These revelations come shortly after Vedika Shetty was arrested by Mumbai’s Juhu Police in connection with a high-profile fraud case involving actress Alia Bhatt. As Alia’s secretary between 2021 and 2024, Shetty allegedly forged documents and embezzled nearly ₹77 lakh, according to police sources.
