Court registers confidential statement of actress regarding complaint against director Sanal Kumar

Kochi: The actress, who had filed a defamation complaint against director Sanal Kumar Sasidharan, has given her confidential statement in connection with the case before Judicial First-Class Magistrate Court, Aluva. 

Earlier, the actress had lodged a complaint accusing Sanal Kumar of defaming her on social media and making derogatory remarks that insulted womanhood. Following this, the police initiated legal proceedings against him.

According to sources, the director is in the United States, now. Authorities have issued a lookout notice and a circular against him, with efforts underway to bring him back to India. The police have sought assistance from the US Embassy to facilitate his extradition.

In 2022, Sanal Kumar was arrested in a similar case based on a complaint lodged by the same actress. He was later granted bail. Despite this, the actress has once again lodged a complaint against him.
