Alappuzha, Kerala: Actress Anusree broke down in tears after witnessing a heart-wrenching moment during a public event in Alappuzha.

A video capturing the emotional scene, which happened during the inauguration of a textile showroom, has now gone viral on social media.

Anusree, who shared the stage with renowned footballer I.M. Vijayan, was part of a lucky draw event meant to announce a ₹10,000 prize winner. As the host read out the winning name and number, an elderly man in the audience, mistaking it for his own, walked up to the stage with hope and excitement.

However, upon realising he was not the actual winner, the man left the stage visibly heartbroken, an emotional moment that moved Anusree to tears.

The video shows the actress stepping off the stage, struggling to hold back tears. Moved by the moment, the store owner, who noticed Anusree’s emotional reaction, spontaneously announced a special prize for the elderly man. Anusree also stepped forward and personally handed him a cash gift, offering a gesture of comfort and compassion. Her words, “I wouldn’t be able to sleep without giving him some amount of money."
