Madhav Suresh, son of veteran actor Suresh Gopi, has addressed the negative memes circulating on social media about his acting debut in the film Kummattikali.

Addressing the criticism in an interview with a YouTube channel, Madhav acknowledged that many people have told him he isn’t cut out for acting and should quit.

“I have heard trolls telling me to quit because acting doesn’t suit me. I have tried, and if it turns out I’m not fit for this, I will quit on my own. But if that’s not the case, I will continue acting,” he said.

He admitted that his performance and the overall presentation in 'Kummattikali' were not the best, but claimed that he is alone in facing such criticism.

“Honestly, 'Kummattikali' was not a great canvas or a good performance from my side. However, I’m the only one being told, ‘Stop it, this isn’t for you.’... The film I presented was not like this. Such things happen, and it’s not just me who has experienced this. This has happened to all stars at some point. When you hear the script, it feels like one story, but when you go for shooting, it turns out to be a different story. When listening to the script, the production is planned with a certain budget and canvas in mind. But when the shooting is over and you evaluate it, not even half of that is utilised,” he said.

Madhav also reflected on the challenges of filmmaking, stressing the responsibility towards both producers and audiences.

“A producer invests hard-earned money into a film, and audiences come to watch it with their own money. There is a responsibility to return that money and provide entertainment value. Unfortunately, Kummattikali did not deliver that. I’m disappointed about that, but I don’t feel guilty. The film has given me a lot of experience,” he added.

Madhav’s candid remarks come in response to widespread criticism, particularly on social media, regarding his performance in the Suresh Gopi-starrer Janaki V vs State of Kerala.
