Actor Dileep Shankar’s death: Initial probe rules out suicide; suspected to have fallen and hit head

Thiruvananthapuram: Police have ruled out suicide in the death of Malayalam actor Dileep Shankar, finding no evidence suggesting self-harm. Initial investigations point to internal bleeding as the possible cause, with the suspicion that Dileep might have fallen and hit his head in his hotel room. The actor’s internal organs have been sent for examination, and the police are awaiting the postmortem report before taking the next steps.
Dileep Shankar, 50, was found dead in his hotel room in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday afternoon. The room was locked from the inside, and there were no signs of foul play or an unnatural death. Police had to break the door to enter the room, where they found Dileep's body on the floor with indications that he may have fallen and struck his head. This has led investigators to suspect that internal bleeding caused his death.
Dileep, who had checked into the hotel four days prior for a serial shoot, had not responded to calls from his crew about the resumption of filming. On Sunday, hotel staff noticed a foul odour coming from his room and alerted the police. Upon arrival, authorities discovered the actor’s lifeless body.
