Actor Anil Murali passes away

Kochi: Actor Anil Murali passed away here on Thursday by noon. He was 56. Anil Murali was under treatment for liver disease. He was admitted to Aster Medcity Hospital here on July 22.

Anil Murali was mainly seen in anti-hero and character roles. He featured in about 200 movies in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu. He entered the film industry after working in television serials.

Anil Murali was born to Muraleedharan Nair and Sreekumari Amma in Thiruvananthapuram. His debut movie was 'Kanyakumariyil Oru Kavitha' released in 1993. He also acted in Lenin Rajendran's 'Daivathinte Vikruthikal'. His role in Kalabhavan mani starrer 'Valkkannadi' was widely appreciated.

His major Malayalam films include 'Baba Kalyani', 'Nasrani', 'Puthiya Mugham', 'City of God', 'Manikyakallu', 'Vellaripravinte Changathi', 'Collector', 'Asuravithu', 'Karmayodha' and 'Amen'. Tovino Thomas starrer 'Forensic' was his last movie.

Anil Murali acted in about 13 Tamil movies including 'Kodi', 'Thani Oruvan', 'Mr. Local', 'Nadodigal 2' and 'Walter Appa'. 'Ragile Kasi' and 'Janda Pai Kapiraju' are his Telugu movies.

Anil Murali is survived by wife Suma and children Adithya and Arundhathi.
