“Dear Navas, I still can’t believe you’ve gone. More than a friend, you were like a brother to me. Just like the deep bond between our fathers, Thilakan and Aboobacker, you and Niyas have always been like brothers to me. That deep bond of affection will always remain in my memories like a treasure. Your departure has left a wound in my heart that cannot heal, my dear... Your memories are immortal. That beautiful smile of yours, your love, everything… will live on in my heart forever as an eternal sorrow. Farewell, my dear brother.”
Kalabhavan Navas was found dead in a hotel room in Chottanikkara. He had been there in the area in connection with the shoot of the film 'Prakambanam'. On Friday evening, he informed the crew that he would return to the location on the 4th and headed to his hotel room. He had reportedly told the hotel that he would check out by 8 pm. When there was no response even after 8.30pm, the staff opened the room and found him lifeless on the bed.
Navas was the son of veteran theatre and film actor Aboobacker. He made his film debut through 'Mimics Action 500' and went on to play many noteworthy roles in Malayalam cinema. He is survived by his wife, film actor Rahna Navas, and their children: Nahreen, Ridhwan, and Rihaan. His brother, Niyas Backer, is also an actor.
