Director Priyadarshan is a filmmaker who loves cricket as much as he loves cinema. Recently, he shared his delight after capturing a photograph with Indian cricketer Sanju Samson, stating that taking a picture with Sanju is a matter of pride for any Malayali.

Accompanying the image on social media, Priyadarshan posted a note expressing his admiration and respect for the cricketer. "As a Malayali and a cricket lover, I feel proud to stand for a photo with Sanju Samson. This is a proud moment for every Malayali cricket fan," he wrote.

Sanju Samson responded to the post by thanking the director in the comments. Several other celebrities, including actresses Keerthy Suresh and Vedhika, and choreographer Pony Verma, also reacted to the photo and the heartfelt note.

Priyadarshan’s most recent directorial venture was Bhoot Bangla, starring Akshay Kumar. The film featured Wamiqa Gabbi as the female lead, alongside an ensemble cast, including Tabu, Rajpal Yadav, Paresh Rawal and Asrani. Released on April 17, the film earned ₹117 crore domestically and grossed ₹188 crore at the global box office, marking a successful reunion for the Priyadarshan-Akshay Kumar duo after a long hiatus.
