55th Kerala Film Awards 2024: Mammootty, Shamla Hamza win best actor awards; Best popular film Premalu

The much-anticipated 55th Kerala State Film Awards were announced on Monday by Minister for Culture and Films Saji Cherian. A seven-member jury chaired by actor Prakash Raj evaluated 38 films for this year’s honours.

According to official sources, the panel held extensive discussions after each screening to finalise the awardees, watching four to five films a day to ensure a fair and comprehensive evaluation. Originally scheduled for October 31, the announcement was postponed due to pending film screenings and a special session of the Legislative Assembly.
