Rajinikanth’s ‘Jailer 2’ has raced past the ₹200 crore mark worldwide within two days of release, with a strong overseas performance helping the Nelson Dilipkumar directorial maintain its box office momentum despite a domestic dip on Day 2.
The Tamil action drama opened to an impressive ₹127 crore worldwide and continued to draw audiences in international markets. However, its India net collection witnessed a drop of more than 40% on Friday compared to its opening day.

Why Is ‘Jailer 2’ Facing Trouble With Its Hindi Release?
Despite its impressive overall box office performance, ‘Jailer 2’ has encountered a hurdle in its Hindi theatrical release.
Multiplex chains have reportedly declined to screen the Hindi version following Sun Pictures’ decision to maintain an OTT release window of less than four weeks. Exhibitors have generally insisted on an eight-week gap between a film’s theatrical debut and its streaming premiere.

The disagreement over the release window has triggered a standoff between the production house and multiplex operators, affecting the film’s Hindi theatrical distribution.
While the film continues to perform strongly across its other markets, the dispute presents an additional challenge for its reach among Hindi-speaking audiences.
