'A year without laughter' : Remembering Innocent on 1st death anniversary

 A year has passed since actor Innocent left us for the heavenly abode. The iconic actor, who was an omnipresent figure in the Malayalam film industry for several decades, breathed his last on March 26, 2023. 

A year since his passing, the fans and colleagues have paid tribute to him. Actor Vineeth Radhakrishnan shared a photo of him with the actor on his Facebook handle and wrote, "Dearest Innocent Chettan always in our hearts. Pranaams."

Meanwhile, a commemoration function will held at SNNBS Samajam Sreenarayana Hall in Irinjalakuda. Important dignitaries, including those from the film industry, will attend the event, informed Minister for Higher Education R Bindu in a post shared on Facebook.

Innocent acted in more than 700 films and has won several awards, including the Kerala State Film Award and Kerala Film Critics Award. He served as a Member of Parliament in the 16th Lok Sabha (2014-2019), representing Chalakudy constituency. In 2012, Innocent, along with his wife, was diagnosed with throat cancer. After overcoming the first stage of cancer, he returned to the silver screen in 2013. He later wrote the memoir titled 'Cancer Wardile Chiri' (Laughter in the Cancer Ward) while undergoing treatment.
