Taylor Swift ropes in Dakota Johnson, Colin Farrell for ‘Patient Zero’ music video

Los Angeles: Pop star Taylor Swift has brought Hollywood actors Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell on board for the music video of her upcoming song ‘Patient Zero’. 

Swift gave fans a first look at the video on Thursday, sharing a teaser on Instagram that features Johnson and Farrell alongside the singer-songwriter. She captioned the post, “This Sunday. @vmas”.

The ‘Patient Zero’ music video is scheduled to arrive on Friday alongside ‘The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore’, Swift’s upcoming album. Swift has directed the video herself, which is set to receive its world premiere at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday.

The event will also see Swift receive the inaugural Artist-Director Award, recognising her work as both a performer and filmmaker.

‘The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore’ will include four new songs. Swift previously announced the project on Instagram, sharing its cover art along with a lengthy note reflecting on the journey of her earlier album, ‘The Life of a Showgirl’.

She wrote, “About a year ago, you guys did a truly unfathomable thing. Something that completely blew my mind… You gave The Life of a Showgirl the biggest first week for an album in history. I took a trip to Sweden to celebrate with Max and Shellback, my two collaborators on this album. Really we just wanted to reflect and take in how grateful we were for the moment we were in, but there was a studio there and we did what we do when we feel anything at all: We wrote more songs”.

Swift added, “I hope you love them, because they were born out of pure gratitude for your exuberance for and celebration of the album we made. ‘The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore’ including four new songs is out on Friday and available to pre-order and save now”.

The original ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ album was released on October 3, 2025. The new release will expand the album with four additional tracks, with ‘Patient Zero’ accompanying the project with its new music video.
