Missing someone can be a quiet feeling. There may be no dramatic goodbye or big heartbreak, just the strange sense that a person is still around even when they are not. Malayalam composer, producer and singer Parvatish Pradeep explores that feeling in his new independent single Theera Theera, released by Think Music.

The romantic track leans into intimacy rather than drama, with Parvatish using a mix of Afro-Indie sounds and Indian musical textures to create its mood.

Composed, produced and sung by Parvatish, Theera Theera is centred on the simple feeling of missing someone you love. The arrangement keeps things relatively understated, allowing the melody and vocals to carry much of the emotion.

Acoustic guitar by Ayush Sharma forms the base of the track, while Aakash Rai's flute brings an Indian touch to its otherwise contemporary indie sound. The vocals are deliberately subtle, blending into the production instead of overpowering it. Melodic hooks add another layer to the track, giving the song a lingering quality.

Muthu has written the lyrics, with Pranav Pradeep contributing to the additional music creative. Abin Paul has handled the mixing and mastering.

Parvatish Pradeep’s independent music journey

For Parvatish, Theera Theera is another step in an independent music journey that runs alongside his work in Malayalam cinema.

The composer has previously worked on songs including Makane from ‘Vaazha’ and Koodappirannor from ‘Vaazha 2’. The latter received a positive response from listeners, encouraging him to continue developing his independent work.

With Theera Theera, he explores a more personal musical space while bringing together contemporary indie influences and sounds that are closer to his own musical background.

The song was recorded at Joshua Inc in Mumbai, Sonic Island in Kochi and Audio Masheen in Mumbai. Sai, Rohan Harish and Noor served as recording engineers.

The song's visual story brings together dancer and choreographer Noel Alexander and actor Niranjana.

Noel is known for his choreography work, including the viral choreography for Masala Coffee's Kaantha, as well as his dance workshops. In the Theera Theera video, he shares the screen with Niranjana in a story shaped around love, absence and longing.

Directed by Siva Prasad, the music video is produced by Brown Crew Productions, with Neeraj Revi handling the cinematography.

The new single is now available across major music streaming and digital platforms.
