A 12-year wait! Govind Vasantha and Ranjini get ready to welcome their first child | See photos

Music director and singer Govind Vasantha and his partner Ranjini Achuthan are all set to welcome their first child. Ranjini shared the exciting news by posting pictures from a recent photoshoot. After a long wait of 12 years, Govind and Ranjini are about to embrace parenthood.

Ranjini announced that she is about to become a mother with the caption, 'The universe has responded to my undying faith'. Along with the pictures, she also shared an emotional note about her long wait to become a mother. Ranjini has also shared pictures with the caption ‘Dear world, We are Pregnant!’

'Excerpts from my pregnancy journal: The 12 year Odyssey. Amongst the sea of mothers, I’d just wait. In terrifying doubt. I’d shadow cook a belly just like theirs and heave at the heavy bosoms they carry. Their leaking nipples would wet my chest. And yet I wouldn’t stop in my tracks. There was no way I was going to give up. What a joy my pregnancy shoot has been. Truly a dream come true!', noted Ranjini Achuthan.

Many well-wishers from within and outside the film industry have extended their congratulations to the couple. Actresses Nikhila Vimal, Rajisha Vijayan, Ahaana Krishna, Aditi Balan, and singers Arya Dhayal and Jyotsna are among those who have shared their joy. 

Govind and Ranjini tied the knot in 2012. Govind Vasantha first gained widespread recognition as a member of the music band Thaikkudam Bridge. He has since established himself as a composer, working as a music director across multiple languages, including Malayalam. Ranjini Achuthan is actively involved in film writing.
