Amala Paul to star in M Padmakumar’s new Malayalam film

After ‘Uyir’, M Padmakumar is moving on to his next Malayalam film, with Amala Paul as the lead. The ceremonial puja and switch-on ceremony were held today, marking the beginning of the yet-to-be-titled movie.

Padmakumar, known for films such as ‘Vargam’, ‘Vaasthavam’, ‘Shikkar’ and ‘Joseph’, is returning with a female-led project. Recent reports have described the upcoming film as a horror movie centred on Amala Paul’s character.

Amala Paul will play the central character, with the cast also including Vijay Babu, Irshad, Kottayam Nazeer, Binu Pappu, Indrans, Rony David Raj, Deepan Sivaraman and Aadhya Amit.

The film is written and scripted by M P Suneesh Kumar. Ramesh Gopinathan is producing the project under the Rajsagar Films banner, with Shamnas M Ashraf serving as executive producer and Sujan Kumar as line producer.

The traditional lamp-lighting ceremony was attended by producer Ramesh Gopinathan’s mother Usha Sreedharan, his wife Srisha Ramesh, children Nanditha and Abhinav, and sisters Reeja and Raji. Former Minister Valsaraj, Sudhakaran, Mambaram Divakaran, Kalasangam Hamsa, Khader Hassan, Raza Salim, Sujan, Rajilal and Jithu were also present.

Mahe MLA Ashok Kumar clapped the first board, while Liberty Basheer performed the switch-on ceremony.

Details of the technical crew

Ajay David Kachappilly is handling the cinematography, while Nandhagopan and K K Nishad are composing the music. The lyrics are by B K Harinarayanan, Muthu and Vivek Muzhakkunnu.

Sooraj E S is the editor, with Saburam handling the art direction. Ranganath Ravee is in charge of sound design, while Ratheesh Ambady and Sameera Saneesh are handling makeup and costumes respectively.

Choreography is by Dinesh Kumar and Anu Viswanath, while the action sequences are being handled by PC Stunts, Michael and Ashraf Gurukkal.

K J Vinayan is the chief associate director, with Akash M, Saji Mundoor and Rahul Krishnan V as associate directors. Tobias is the production controller, while Ashraf Panjhara is the production executive.

Anil Kumar Mankavu serves as finance controller, with Biju Parakkal, M K Dileep Kumar and Adithyan C. as finance managers. Sibi is handling stills, while Vazhoor Jose and Athira Diljith are the PROs. Obscura Entertainment is managing digital marketing.
