Director Anil Ravipudi’s family entertainer ‘Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu’ has scripted history at the box office, registering the biggest opening-week collections of Chiranjeevi’s illustrious career.

Released on January 12, the film has amassed over Rs 260 crore worldwide in just six days, according to its producers Shine Screens, and has already achieved breakeven across all regions.

Announcing the milestone, the makers shared a celebratory post featuring Chiranjeevi and co-star Nayanthara, calling it a “Mega Sankranthi Blockbuster” and confirming a Rs 261+ crore worldwide gross within its first week.

The production house also stated that all territories have entered the profit zone, highlighting the film’s exceptional commercial run.

With these figures, ‘Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu’ has overtaken ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’ (2019), which previously held the record as Chiranjeevi’s highest-grossing film with a worldwide collection of Rs 246.6 crore. The latest release has surpassed that benchmark in significantly less time.

Released during the lucrative Sankranti window, the film capitalised on holiday crowds and strong fan anticipation for Chiranjeevi’s return in a full-fledged family entertainer.

Its mix of comedy, action, and emotional drama has resonated strongly with audiences, resulting in packed shows and repeat viewership across Telugu-speaking markets.

The film has also enjoyed a solid overseas run, with North America and other international territories contributing substantially to the overall gross. Trade analysts attribute this to the universal appeal of the family-comedy genre and Chiranjeevi’s enduring popularity abroad.

Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu’ released alongside Prabhas’ horror-comedy ‘The Raja Saab’. While industry tracker Sacnilk reported Rs 193 crore nett for the Prabhas-starrer in eight days, its makers have claimed higher figures. Even so, Chiranjeevi’s film has clearly emerged as the standout Sankranti 2026 box office winner.

As it heads into its second week, ‘Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu’ is now eyeing the Rs 300 crore worldwide milestone, with trade circles expecting the momentum to continue. For Chiranjeevi, the blockbuster further cements his legacy as one of Telugu cinema’s most reliable box office forces.
