Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan marked his 61st birthday with a special treat for his fans, unveiling the first song from his much-anticipated film 'King' on Monday. Titled 'Tu Mil Jaaye', the romantic track features Shah Rukh alongside Deepika Padukone, offering a first look at their relationship in the upcoming action thriller while introducing audiences to the film's world.

The song brings together an interesting mix of musical talent, with Arijit Singh and Madhubanti Bagchi lending their voices, alongside an English rap written by international pop star Ed Sheeran. Sachin-Jigar have composed the track, with Kumaar credited for its lyrics.

'Tu Mil Jaaye': A romantic glimpse into 'King'

The music video begins with Shah Rukh delivering an intriguing dialogue that hints at the nature of his character: 'Main qaatil nahi, aashiq hoon, aur nishana meri mashooka, aur woh aashiq hi kya jo dil cheer na de". The opening line establishes the mood before the track transitions into an upbeat romantic number.

Shah Rukh and Deepika share several affectionate moments throughout the video. From leisurely visits to cafes and romantic escapes to spending time together on a beach, the visuals offer a glimpse of the pair's on-screen chemistry. Their sequences present a softer side to the film's otherwise action-packed world.

However, the romantic narrative takes a darker turn as the video hints at Shah Rukh's involvement in illegal smuggling. The shift suggests that the relationship may face challenges as the story unfolds, adding an element of intrigue to the glimpse.

Ed Sheeran, Arijit Singh collaborate for the track

One of the notable aspects of 'Tu Mil Jaaye' is its combination of Indian and international musical talent. Arijit Singh's vocals, Madhubanti Bagchi's contribution and Ed Sheeran's English rap bring different musical influences together.

The collaboration also marks an interesting addition to the film's promotional campaign, with the track balancing a lively romantic mood against glimpses of the action and intensity expected from 'King'.

The video concludes with another striking dialogue from Shah Rukh: “Iss baar dil mein aag lagi hai, ab duniya jalaye bina manega nahi," returning the focus to his character's fierce personality. Slick transitions and action sequences further hint at the scale and visual style of the film.

T-Series released the song on its official Instagram handle on Monday, coinciding with the actor's birthday celebrations.
