Deepika-Ranveer reveal newborn girl’s name; Share first family photo with both daughters

Actors Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh have revealed the name of their second daughter, a month after welcoming her into their family. The couple announced the name Devi Padukone Singh, through a joint Instagram post featuring a rare family photograph with their newborn and elder daughter, Dua Padukone Singh.

The photograph shows Deepika and Ranveer dressed in coordinated ivory and gold outfits as they hold their younger daughter. Dua is seen kissing her baby sister, making it the first glimpse of the family together since the newborn’s arrival. The couple captioned the post, “Of Love & Abundance… Devi Padukone Singh.”

The announcement comes a month after the actors welcomed their second daughter on September 19, 2026. They had shared the news through a simple social media post featuring the baby’s footprint and the words, “Welcome baby girl!” The announcement was signed off by Dua, Deepika and Ranveer, but the newborn’s name had not been revealed at the time.

The couple became parents for the first time on September 8, 2024, when they welcomed their daughter Dua.

They announced her name a few weeks after her birth, sharing a photograph of her dressed in a traditional outfit during the Diwali festive period. Before that reveal, the actors had largely kept their daughter away from public attention.

With the arrival of Devi, the family now has two daughters, both born in September.The couple has generally kept details of their personal lives private, choosing to share selected moments with fans through social media.

From ‘Ram-Leela’ co-stars to husband and wife

Deepika and Ranveer first met at an awards event in 2012, but it was while working together on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela’ that they grew closer. The 2013 film, in which they played the lead pair, became the first of several successful collaborations between the actors. 

Although they kept their relationship largely private in the early years, their on-screen chemistry fuelled speculation about their romance. They went on to star together in Bhansali’s ‘Bajirao Mastani’ (2015) and ‘Padmaavat’ (2018), as well as Kabir Khan’s cricket drama ‘83’ (2021), in which Ranveer played Kapil Dev and Deepika portrayed his wife, Romi.

After dating for around six years, the actors married in November 2018 in a private ceremony at Lake Como, Italy. Their wedding celebrations included both Konkani and Sindhi traditions, reflecting their respective family backgrounds.

Ranveer was last seen in ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, released in March 2026. He is expected to star in ‘Pralay’, an upcoming zombie survival thriller directed by Jay Mehta.

Deepika, meanwhile, was last seen in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Singham Again’, released in November 2024. She is set to appear alongside Shah Rukh Khan in Siddharth Anand’s ‘King’, which is scheduled for a theatrical release on December 24, 2026.
